NKU PLAYS SIUE TO 1-1 TIE

No. 4 Norse now 11-1-1

WILDER, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville played to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

Lori Kevill gave NKU a 1-0 lead 27 minutes into the match with a goal off an assist from Amanda Trout. SIUE, however, tied the match at 1-1 two minutes later when Emily Anderson scored off an assist from Sara Decker.

NKU had several good scoring opportunities in the second half and overtime but was unable to convert the shots. NKU, which had won 10 consecutive matches entering Sunday, is now 11-1-1 overall, 6-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

SIUE is now 11-3-1 overall, 7-0-1 in the GLVC.

NKU, ranked No. 4 nationally in the Division II poll, will return to action Friday with a 4 p.m. match at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
