No. 1 NKU women meet No. 16 UW-Parkside; NKU men meet No. 1 Lewis |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team, ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, will travel to Kenosha, Wis., this Friday for a 2:15 p.m. match against unbeaten and 16th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Parkside. NKU, now 10-0 after a 7-1 win over Hillsdale (Mich.) College last Friday, is 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Wisconsin-Parkside is 10-0 overall, 5-0 in the GLVC. A year ago, NKU posted a 3-0 win over Wisconsin-Parkside at Kenosha, Wis. NKUs Bessie Black was named the GLVC Player of the Week this past Monday. Black scored four goals last week as the Norse won twice and extended their regular-season unbeaten streak to 26 matches (24-0-2). Black leads the GLVC in scoring with 13 goals and 11 assists. The NKU mens soccer team, now 7-4 overall and in sole possession of first place in the GLVC with a 4-0 record, will meet No. 12 Wisconsin-Parkside (8-0-1, 4-0-1 GLVC) at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Kenosha, Wis. The Norse will also face No. 1 Lewis University (10-0-1, 4-0-1 GLVC) at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Romeoville, Ill. NKU has won six of its last seven matches, with the only loss a 3-2 double-overtime setback at the University of Charleston (W. Va.). A year ago, Wisconsin-Parkside defeated NKU twice (5-0 in the regular season, 2-0 in the GLVC Tournament). NKU dropped a 1-0 decision at Lewis last season. |
