No. 1 Norse post 8-0 win over Gannon (Pa.) |

WILDER, Ky. - Tricia Ruark scored two goals and had three assists Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team defeated Gannon (Pa.) University, 8-0, at the Town & Country Sports Complex. Betsy Moore added two goals and had two assists as NKU - ranked No. 1 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll - improved to 17-0 overall. Stephanie Sandfoss also scored a pair of goals, and Jeanna Martin added two assists as the Norse coasted to the non-conference victory. The Norse will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and host the GLVC semifinals and finals Nov. 3-4 at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. NKU will play Nov. 3 against the winner of the University of Indianapolis/Saint Josephs College match, which will be played at Indianapolis on Oct. 31. The Norse are 31-0-2 during their last 33 matches in the regular season. The last team to defeat the Norse in a regular-season match was the University of Missouri-Rolla, which posted a 5-3 win against NKU on Aug. 27, 2000. The Norse will wrap up the regular season at 1 p.m. Sunday with a home match against Mercyhurst (Pa.) College.
