GLVC’s leading scorer earns weekly honor

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bessie Black has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women’s soccer. Black, a junior forward and a graduate of Scott High School, scored four goals as the Norse posted a pair of wins this weekend. Black scored two goals Friday as NKU defeated Hillsdale (Mich.) College, 7-1. She added two more goals during a 3-0 win at Saint Joseph’s College on Sunday as the Norse extended their regular-season unbeaten streak to 26 matches (24-0-2). Black leads the GLVC in scoring with 13 goals and 11 assists.
