RUARK NAMED GLVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Norse’s Sheehan named GLVC co-Coach of the Year

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer player Tricia Ruark has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year by the league’s coaches.

Ruark, a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, leads NKU with nine goals and 18 assists this season. Ruark is a junior midfielder who has led the Norse to an 18-1-2 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

NKU’s Bob Sheehan earned GLVC co-Coach of the Year honors. Sheehan led the Norse to their third consecutive GLVC championship, and he is seeking to guide NKU back to the NCAA Division II Final Four.

Five other NKU players - senior Malissa Stevenson (Anderson High School), junior Betsy Moore (McAuley High School), junior Amanda Trout (Northwest High School), junior Jeanna Martin (Seton High School) and junior Lauren Piening (Anderson High School) - also were named first team All-GLVC.

NKU had six of the 12 players on the first team.
