NKU TO HOST NCAA TOURNAMENT |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens soccer team is the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II Central Region and will host the first round of the NCAA II Tournament this Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against the University of Minnesota-Duluth at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky. NKU, which enters the NCAA Tournament with an 18-1-2 record, is ranked No. 4 nationally in the Division II poll. The Norse advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four last season. Minnesota-Duluth enters the NCAA Division II Tournament with a 17-1-2 record. The Bulldogs compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. This will be the first meeting between NKU and UMD in womens soccer. The second round of the NCAA Tournament will be played the following weekend (Nov. 18 or 19). The NKU/UMD winner will face either Mercyhurst (Pa.) College or Ashland University in the second round. NKU won its third consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament championship Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
