Five Norse womens soccer players earn All-GLVC accolades |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Five Northern Kentucky University womens soccer players have earned All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors, the league office announced Friday. NKU standouts Robyn Withers, Amy Law, Kristen Votapek and Amy Martini each were named first team All-GLVC. The Norses Lauren Piening earned second team All-GLVC accolades. Withers, a senior sweeper and a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, has been the anchor of the NKU defense for four seasons. This marks the third straight year that Withers has been named All-GLVC. Law, a sophomore midfielder and a graduate of Glen Este High School, has scored five goals and added two assists this season. All five of Laws goals have been game-winners this season. Votapek, a junior forward and a graduate of Amelia High School, leads NKU in scoring with 10 goals and eight assists. The 10 goals rank second in the GLVC. Martini, a junior midfielder and a graduate of Oak Hills High School, has three goals and seven assists this season. Martinis seven assists rank fifth in the GLVC this fall. Piening, a senior goalie and a graduate of Anderson High School, earned All-GLVC honors for the fourth time in her career. She owns a 0.52 goals against average this season with 11 shutouts. |
