NKU SOCCER PLAYERS HONORED BY NSCAA

Withers, Votapek named first team All-Great Lakes Region by NSCAA

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Three Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer players have been named All-Great Lakes Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Senior sweeper Robyn Withers and junior forward Kristen Votapek each earned first team All-Great Lakes Region honors for NKU. The Norse’s Amy Martini, a junior midfielder, was named second team All-Great Lakes Region.

Withers, a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, has been the anchor of the NKU defense for four seasons and led the Norse to four consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament berths. She was also named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference three times in her career.

Votapek, a graduate of Amelia High School, scored a team-leading 11 goals and added eight assists this season.

Martini, a graduate of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, had four goals and seven assists this season. NKU finished with a 15-5-1 record this fall.
