Norse freshman named GLVC Player of the Week |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky Universitys Amy Law has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in womens soccer. Law, a freshman and a graduate of Glen Este High School, scored the game-winning goal in overtime last Friday to give NKU a 2-1 victory over Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She later recorded three assists on Sunday against Quincy University as the Norse completed a weekend GLVC sweep. On Friday, Law chased down a pass and scored a goal with six minutes gone in overtime to give the Norse a 2-1 triumph over SIUE. She capped her week with a career-high three assists to key NKUs 7-0 victory over Quincy. For the week, Law had one goal and three assists as NKU kept its four-year GLVC unbeaten streak alive (47-0-4). For the season, Law has six goals and four assists. She ranks No. 7 in the GLVC in scoring at 1.14 points per game. NKU (11-2-1 overall, 7-0 GLVC) will hit the road this weekend for matches at Saint Josephs College (6 p.m. Friday) and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (1 p.m. Sunday). The Norse can wrap up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GLVC Tournament with a pair of victories this weekend. NKU is aiming for its sixth consecutive GLVC championship. The Norse are also seeking their fifth straight berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament. |
