Norse womens soccer team adds prep standouts |
|
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University womens soccer head coach Bob Sheehan has announced that the following individuals have signed national letters of intent to attend NKU and play for the Norse next fall. They are: Michelle Heckman, a 5-foot-3 forward from Scott High School. Heckman scored a school-record 32 goals last fall and finished her career with 64 goals and 19 assists. She was also named All-Region and led Scott to back-to-back district championships. Jayme Light, a four-year starter at Colerain High School. Light earned All-Greater Miami Conference honors last fall and was named the Cardinals most valuable player. Kristen Lies, a three-year letterwinner at Colerain High School. Lies, who also lettered in basketball and track at Colerain, earned first team All-Greater Miami Conference honors last year. Jeanna Goettelman, a first team All-City selection at Ursuline Academy. Those recruits will join an NKU squad that finished with a 17-3-4 overall record in 2003. The Norse also posted a 9-0-1 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the fifth straight year. |
