Four NKU womens soccer players named All-Great Lakes Region |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Four Northern Kentucky University womens soccer players have earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Robyn Withers, Katie Hanck and Kendra Zinser have each been named first team All-Great Lakes Region, while Becky Schnieders earned second team All-Great Lakes Region honors. Those players led the Norse to a 17-3-4 record this season, and NKU advanced to the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals. Withers, a junior sweeper and a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, was the leader of an NKU defense that allowed just 17 goals in 24 matches. She was also a first team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference performer. Hanck, a sophomore midfielder and a graduate of Fairfield (Ohio) High School, scored seven goals and added seven assists this season. Hanck also earned first team All-GLVC honors and was twice named GLVC Player of the Week. Zinser, a senior forward and a graduate of Mercy High School in Cincinnati, tallied a team-leading 13 goals this season and finished as NKUs top scorer with 33 total points. Zinser also earned first team All-GLVC honors. Schnieders, a senior defender and a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, helped NKU post 10 shutouts this season. Schnieders was also a first team All-GLVC selection. |
