Keyer-Scott ties for medalist honors

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team finished third at the the NCAA Division II East Regional on Wednesday with a two-day score of 976 at the par-72 Katke Golf Course.

NKU junior golfer Kim Keyer-Scott tied for medalist honors with a score of 232. Keyer-Scott shot a 7-over-par 79 Wednesday to tie Grand Valley State University’s Enid Gage, who fired a 76 in the final round to also close the tournament at 232.

Ferris State University won the team championship with a score of 963, while Grand Valley State took runner-up honors with a total of 965. Those teams will advance to the NCAA Division II national finals.

Keyer-Scott also advances as an individual to the 2004 NCAA Division II national finals, which will be held May 12-15 at The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes in Longwood, Fla. A year ago, Keyer-Scott reached the national finals as an individual and posted a fifth-place finish in that event.
