NKU’S HALL TIED FOR 28th AFTER 1 ROUND

Norse freshman golfer shoots 85 on first day of NCAA nationals

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Northern Kentucky University women’s golfer Breanne Hall shot a 13-over-par 85 Wednesday in the first round and is tied for 28th place in the individual competition of the NCAA Division II national finals.

Hall, a freshman from Kentwood, Mich., qualified as an individual for the NCAA national finals. She finished the first round of the 72-hole tournament with an 85 at the par-72 Rock Hill Country Club. Hall is the first NKU women’s golfer to ever earn a berth in the nationals.

Jana Peterkova of Florida Southern College shot a 2-over-par 74 Wednesday and is the overall leader after the first day of competition.

The second round of the NCAA Division II national finals will held Thursday.
