KEYER-SCOTT FINISHES 16TH

Norse golfer completes NCAA nationals in 16th place

LONGWOOD, Fla. - Northern Kentucky University women’s golfer Kim Keyer-Scott tied for 16th place individually at the NCAA Division II national finals Saturday with a four-round total of 314 (+26).

Keyer-Scott completed the 72-hole tournament by shooting an 85 at the par-72 Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes. Keyer-Scott entered the final round tied for fourth place in the individual competition, but five bogeys during the first nine holes eliminated any chance of an individual national title for the NKU junior golfer.

A year ago, Keyer-Scott reached the national finals as an individual and posted a fifth-place finish.

Rollins (Fla.) College shot a tournament-record 44-under-par 1,196 for the four rounds to capture the NCAA Division II national championship for the second straight year.

Florida Southern College and Ferris State University tied for second place at 1,246, followed by Northeastern (Okla.) State University in fourth at 1,265, and Western Washington University in fifth at 1,279.

Charlotte Campbell of Rollins made a dramatic birdie putt on the 18th hole to defend her individual national title by one stroke over teammate Freddie Seeholzer.

Campbell shot a 2-under-par 70, the best round of the week and also a national tournament record. She finished at 11-over 299, which tied her own record.
