HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Elizabeth Burrows, a 5-foot-9 senior guard/forward at Eastern Brown (Ohio) High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play womens basketball next season. Burrows, a native of Russellville, Ohio, averaged 18 points, 7.4 rebounds, 6.4 steals and 7.1 assists as a junior for Eastern Brown. The Warriors finished with a 25-1 record and advanced to the Ohio Division III state semifinals in 1999-2000. Burrows, who also connected on 61.7 percent of her shots from the field, earned Southern Hills League Player of the Year honors and was a member of the OHSAA All-Tournament Team during last years Final Four. Elizabeth is an outstanding basketball player who is extremely versatile, and we are very happy she decided to attend Northern Kentucky University, NKU head coach Nancy Winstel said. She comes from a winning program at Eastern Brown, and Elizabeth is going to be a great addition to our team next season. Burrows became the first Eastern Brown junior to reach 1,000 career points last season. She will graduate from Eastern Brown this coming spring. |
