Norse sophomore scores career-high 20 points |

FINDLAY, Ohio - Connie Myers scored a career-high 20 points Saturday as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated the University of Findlay, 86-52, at the Findlay Tip-Off Tournament. Myers, a sophomore forward, made 10 of 14 field goal attempts and also added five assists as NKU improved to 1-1. Jessica Brock came off the bench and added a career-high 15 points and nine rebounds for NKU, which is ranked No. 6 nationally in the WBCAs NCAA Division II preseason poll. NKU built a 40-29 halftime lead by shooting 51.7 percent from the field. Kristin Polosky scored all 11 of her points in the first half, and Brock had eight points during the first 20 minutes. In the second half, Myers scored 14 points as NKU coasted past the Oilers (1-4). Bridget Flanagan added 11 points for NKU, and Amy Mobley finished with 10 points. Sharell Snardon added nine points, four steals and four rebounds for the Norse, and Elizabeth Burrows had five points, eight rebounds and four assists. NKU limited Findlay to just 32.1 percent shooting from the field and forced 23 turnovers. Myers earned All-Tournament honors for the Norse, who will open Great Lakes Valley Conference action next Saturday (Nov. 30) with a 1 p.m. home game against Quincy University. |
