Norse knock off Division I Indiana State, 97-94 in overtime |

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Junior forward Michelle Cottrell scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Saturday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Indiana State University, 97-94 in overtime, in an exhibition game at the Hulman Center. NKU, the defending NCAA Division II national champion, forced the NCAA Division I Sycamores into 26 turnovers and placed five players in double figures. Michele Tuchfarber (14 points), Heather Livingstone (12 points), Dana Schubeler (12 points) and Jessica Jenson (11 points) all joined Cottrell in double figures. Cottrell made 10 of 17 shots from the field. NKU will open up its regular-season schedule at 6 p.m. this Friday at the Avalon Classic in Erie, Pa. The Norse will play Edinboro (Pa.) in the first round. |
