COTTRELL NAMED KODAK ALL-AMERICAN
NKU sophomore earns spot on prestigious All-America squad
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University womens basketball player Michelle Cottrell has been named to the NCAA Division II Kodak All-America Team.
Cottrell, a sophomore forward and a graduate of Boone County High School, has led NKU to a 29-2 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. Cottrell enters the Elite Eight averaging 17.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She is also shooting 58.1 percent from the field and was named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Year.
Cottrell is looking to lead NKU to its first-ever national championship. The Norse are ranked No. 2 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll and will meet No. 1 College of St. Rose (N.Y.) at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night at Pine Bluff, Ark.
