NKU EARNS NCAA TOURNAMENT BERTH |

Norse to meet Grand Valley State at 8 p.m. Friday |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team received a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament Sunday night and will play Grand Valley State University at 8 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the Great Lakes Regional at Indianapolis, Ind. NKU (21-7) is the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Grand Valley State (24-6) in a rematch of the season opener, which the Lakers won by a 63-62 score. The University of Indianapolis (28-2) is the No. 1 seed and host, and the Greyhounds will meet No. 8 seed Wayne (Mich.) State University at 6 p.m. Friday. If NKU defeats Grand Valley State, the Norse will meet the Indianapolis/Wayne State winner at 8 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals, with the championship game scheduled at 7 p.m. next Monday (March 17).
