NKUs winning streak halted at 34 consecutive games |

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Natalie Glaser scored seven of her 14 points during a 20-4 run late in the second half Saturday night as the University of Southern Indiana rallied to upset Northern Kentucky University, 72-62, at the Physical Activities Center. The loss snapped a 34-game winning streak for NKU, which dropped to 10-1 overall, 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Prior to Saturday, the Norse had not lost since Jan. 8, 2000, when Bellarmine posted a 76-72 win against NKU in Regents Hall. NKU built a 49-42 lead with 8:42 remaining in the game when Bridget Flanagan hit a three-point shot, but USI (10-1, 4-1 GLVC) used a 20-4 run to take a 62-53 advantage. The Lady Eagles converted 28 of 37 free throws and won the rebounding battle by a 36-28 margin. NKU entered the game ranked No. 1 nationally in the Division II poll, and USI was rated No. 21. Michele Tuchfarber led the Norse with 19 points, and Michelle Cottrell added 11 points. The loss also snapped NKUs 19-game road winning streak against GLVC teams. Prior to Saturday, NKU had not lost a GLVC road game since a 62-61 defeat at Southern Illinois at Edwardsville two years ago.
