NKU defeats Kentucky State, 82-67 |

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Amy Mobley scored a career-high 31 points Wednesday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Kentucky State University, 82-67, at the Exum Center. Mobley also finished with 15 rebounds and five assists as the Norse (13-2) gave Nancy Winstel her 400th career victory at NKU. Winstel, who is now 400-127 in 19 years at NKU, is the first basketball coach in Norse history to reach the 400-victory plateau. Bridget Flanagan added 11 points for NKU, which is ranked No. 3 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. Suzie Smith finished with 10 points for the Norse, who made 31 of 41 free throws and won despite committing 34 turnovers. NKU now owns a 39-4 lead in the all-time series with Kentucky State. NKU will return to the Great Lakes Valley Conference portion of its schedule this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and play host to Bellarmine University in Regents Hall. The Norse are 9-0 in the GLVC and in sole possession of first place in the league standings. |
