NKU IMPROVES TO 12-2 WITH WIN OVER SJC
Cottrell grabs 21 rebounds as Norse post 76-63 victory
RENSSELAER, Ind. - Sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell scored 21 points and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds Saturday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Saint Josephs College, 76-63, at the Richard Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse.
Freshman forward Amy Mobley came off the bench and added 19 points as NKU improved to 12-2 overall, 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Junior guard Michele Tuchfarber had 14 points for NKU, which rallied from a 38-37 halftime deficit. Tuchfarber has now scored 979 career points at NKU.
The Norse are ranked No. 9 nationally in the WBCA Division II poll and No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region poll. NKU will host the University of Southern Indiana at 5:30 p.m. Thursday night in Regents Hall.
