NKU DEFEATS IPFW, 66-54
Norse improve to 11-2 with victory
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Thursday night as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, 66-54, at Gates Sports Center.
Junior guard Michele Tuchfarber added 15 points as NKU improved to 11-2 overall, 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse rallied from a 32-30 halftime deficit by limiting IPFW (7-7) to just 29.6 percent shooting from the field in the second half.
Junior guard Heather Livingstone and junior forward Jessica Jenson both added 12 points for the Norse. NKU is ranked No. 1 in the latest Great Lakes Region poll, and No. 9 nationally in the Division II ratings.
NKU will play at Saint Josephs College at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
