Norse improve to 14-7 overall, 9-6 GLVC |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Connie Myers scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Thursday as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team rallied for a 63-56 win over Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in Regents Hall. Myers scored 17 points in the second half as NKU fought back from a 36-30 deficit with 14:58 left in the game. She keyed a 28-10 Norse run with 12 points as NKU built a 58-46 lead with 3:38 remaining in the game. Myers hit 8-of-13 shots from the field, and she was 9-for-11 from the free throw line. It was also her seventh double-double of the season. Karmen Graham and Sharell Snardon each finished with 10 points for NKU, which improved to 14-7 overall, 9-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse shot 52 percent from the field in the second half to snap a two-game losing streak. Karyn Creager and Jessica Brock each scored eight points for NKU. Tanya Guell led SIUE (10-13 overall, 5-1 GLVC) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. NKU will close out the 2003-04 home season at 1 p.m. Saturday when Lewis University visits Regents Hall. |
