Norse defeat IPFW, 82-48, to improve to 19-2 |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Julie Cowens scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University womens basketball team defeated Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne, 82-48, in Regents Hall. Cowens scored 14 points in the first half as NKU built a 40-23 lead. The Norse shot 63 percent from the field in the first half and held IPFW (14-8, 7-8 GLVC) to 30.4 percent shooting before halftime. Heather Livingstone added 11 points and four assists for the Norse, who improved to 19-2 overall, 13-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU has now won 23 consecutive games in Regents Hall. NKU is also 58-5 in its last 63 games against GLVC opponents. The Norse are ranked No. 7 nationally in the Division II poll. |
