NORSE IMPROVE TO 3-0 WITH 83-60 WIN AT UWP

KENOSHA, Wis. - Sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 83-60.

NKU (3-0 overall, 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) struggled with the Rangers during the first 20 minutes and held just a 35-33 halftime lead. The Norse, though, held UWP to 39.1 percent shooting from the field in the second half and made 58.6 percent of their own shots from the field to pull away.

Junior guard Michele Tuchfarber added 20 points for the Norse, while teammates Heather Livingstone and Bridget Flanagan both scored 11 points. Flanagan was 3 of 4 from three-point range.
