Norse improve to 7-0 with victory over KSU


HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Junior guard Heather Livingstone scored 19 points, dished out five assists and had five steals Tuesday night as the Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball team defeated Kentucky State University, 80-36, in Regents Hall.

Livingstone made five three-point shots as NKU, ranked No. 6 nationally in the WBCA Division II poll, improved to 7-0. Sophomore forward Michelle Cottrell added 11 points and 12 rebounds, and sophomore guard Suzie Smith scored a career-high 13 points for the Norse.

NKU built a 40-18 halftime lead by holding KSU (2-2) to 20.8 percent shooting from the field during the first 20 minutes. The Thorobrettes scored just five field goals before halftime and finished the game 12 of 66 (18.2 percent) from the field.

NKU now owns a 38-4 lead in the all-time series with KSU.
