Top-ranked Norse to meet UA-Huntsville on Dec. 20 |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball team is ranked No. 1 nationally in this week’s WBCA/NCAA Division II poll. NKU, which is 7-0, was ranked No. 3 last week but losses by No. 1 North Dakota and No. 2 Emporia State elevated the Norse to the nation’s top ranking. This is the third time in history the NKU women’s basketball program has been ranked No. 1 in the national poll. NKU was ranked No. 1 in the final poll of the 1999-2000 season, and the Norse spent six weeks as the nation’s No. 1 team last season. The Norse will play host to the Community Recorder Classic Dec. 20-21 in Regents Hall. NKU will face the University of Alabama-Huntsville at 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 20 in the first round. |
