NKU DEFEATS UWP ON FRIDAY

Buroker’s 18 kills lead Norse

KENOSHA, Wis. - Senior middle hitter Jessica Buroker had 18 kills and a .500 hitting percentage Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 15-5, 15-6, 15-10. Junior outside hitter Bethany Gastright added 14 kills and a .367 hitting percentage for the Norse, who improved to 12-2 overall, 6-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Senior setter Bobbi Casey recorded 54 assists and had five digs for NKU. NKU, ranked No. 11 nationally in the Division II poll, now has 40 consecutive victories against GLVC opponents. The last time NKU lost to a GLVC opponent was on the road at Southern Illinois at Edwardsville on Sept. 25, 1998, when the Cougars defeated the Norse in five games.
