NKU LOOKS TO EXTEND WIN STREAK

Norse (15-4) own 11 consecutive victories

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team will hit the road Wednesday for an 8 p.m. match at the University of Indianapolis.

NKU will return home Thursday at 7 p.m. to meet Bellarmine University, and the Norse will close out the week Friday night at 7 p.m. with a match against Georgetown (Ky.) College in Regents Hall.

NKU has won 11 consecutive matches and is ranked No. 19 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The Norse also own a 29-0 lead against Indianapolis in the all-time series.

NKU defeated Indianapolis in three games earlier this season in Regents Hall. Indianapolis is currently 20-4 overall, 6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU leads the GLVC with a 7-0 record.

Bethany Gastright recorded a total of 32 kills last Saturday as NKU defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 30-11, 30-27, 30-24, and Edinboro (Pa.), 30-19, 30-17, 30-25, in Regents Hall. Cammi Welter added 19 kills in the two wins.

Gastright now has 1,457 career kills and ranks No. 4 in Norse history in that category.
