NKU DEFEATS KENTUCKY WESLEYAN

Norse win 42nd consecutive match at home

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Julie Hathorn had nine kills and four service aces Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College, 15-3, 15-2, 15-5, in Regents Hall.

Jessica Buroker added eight kills and a .500 hitting percentage for NKU, which improved to 13-4 overall, 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU has now won 42 consecutive matches at home. The last team to beat NKU in Regents Hall was the University of New Haven, which knocked off the Norse in four games on Nov. 9, 1997.

The NCAA Division II all-time record for consecutive homecourt victories is 109, set by New Haven from 1992-97.

NKU has now won 56 consecutive matches against GLVC opponents in Regents Hall dating back to Sept. 3,1995, when IPFW defeated the Norse in five games.

NKU will play host to Bellarmine University at 2 p.m. Saturday in Regents Hall.
