HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Bethany Gastright recorded 26 kills Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team won twice, defeating the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 15-1, 15-4, 15-5, and the University of New Haven, 15-6, 15-1, 15-5, in Regents Hall. Jessica Buroker added 21 total kills and a .636 hitting percentage as NKU improved to 19-5. Julie Hathorn had four service aces in the two matches and also added 15 kills. NKU, which is now 9-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, will hit the road next week for matches at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (8 p.m. on Friday), and the University of Southern Indiana (3 p.m. on Saturday). The Norse need to win both matches next weekend to remain in contention to host the GLVC Tournament in November. NKU has won three consecutive GLVC championships. |
