Norse senior named GLVC Player of the Week

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Bethany Gastright has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball. Gastright, a senior outside hitter from Lakeside Park, Ky., amassed 45 kills (6.43 per game) and a .390 hitting percentage in road wins over Saint Joseph’s College and Division I Indiana-Purdue University at Fort Wayne. In seven games played, Gastright also had four service aces, 35 digs (5.00 per game) and four blocks. In the win at IPFW on Saturday, Gastright recorded 21 kills and four service aces as NKU posted a 30-25, 30-22, 30-15 victory. The Norse, who extended their winning streak to seven with the victory, will play host to Thomas More College at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in Regents Hall.
