SALISBURY LEADS NKU PAST GEORGETOWN

Norse outside hitter has 21 kills, 11 digs and .529 hitting percentage

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Nicole Salisbury recorded 21 kills and a .529 hitting percentage Tuesday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Georgetown (Ky.) College, 30-20, 24-30, 30-20, 30-16, in Regents Hall.

Salisbury - a junior outside hitter who was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week earlier on Tuesday - also finished with 11 digs and two service aces for NKU, which improved to 7-6 overall with the non-conference victory. The Norse extended their win streak to four with the victory.

Cammi Welter added 19 kills, 10 digs, six blocks and a .469 hitting percentage for NKU, which hit .416 as a team. The Norse converted 70 of 125 attack attempts and had 18 errors.

Kristin Koralewski picked up a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs, while Sara Taylor also had a double-double with 58 assists and 11 digs.

Jessica Leonard had 20 kills for Georgetown, which dropped to 9-7. NKU now leads the all-time series with the Tigers, 21-5.

NKU will play host to the University of Indianapolis at 7 p.m. Friday in a GLVC match. The Norse also have a home match against Saint Joseph’s College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
