Gastright records 24 kills as Norse improve to 19-4 |

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Bethany Gastright had 24 kills and a .432 hitting percentage Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Bellarmine University, 30-17, 30-24, 30-18. Julie Hathorn added nine kills and a .529 hitting percentage as NKU improved to 19-4 overall, 9-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Sara Taylor recorded 34 assists for NKU, which extended its win streak to 15. The longest single-season win streak in Norse volleyball history is 27, set in 1995 when NKU won its final 27 matches of the season. The Norse, who play at Kentucky Wesleyan College at 2 p.m. Saturday, are ranked No. 18 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. NKU holds a two-game lead in the GLVC standings, and the Norse can wrap up the No. 1 seed and homecourt advantage with three more wins.
