Norse now 17-4 after defeating Wheeling Jesuit |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Julie Hathorn had 17 kills, 11 digs and six blocks Tuesday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Wheeling Jesuit University, 15-1, 15-7, 8-15, 15-13, in Regents Hall. Jessica Buroker added 11 kills and a. 526 hitting percentage as the Norse improved to 17-4 and extended their home winning streak to 46 consecutive matches. The last team to beat NKU in Regents Hall was the University of New Haven, which knocked off the Norse in four games on Nov. 9, 1997. The NCAA Division II all-time record for consecutive homecourt victories is 109, set by New Haven from 1992-97. Bethany Gastright had 14 kills and a .379 hitting percentage, and Camilla Welter added 12 kills and a .348 hitting percentage. Wheeling Jesuit is now 21-12. NKU will play Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Lewis University at 7 p.m. Friday in Regents Hall. The Norse will also play host to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 1 p.m. Saturday, and later play New Haven at 5 p.m. |
