THREE NKU PLAYERS NAMED AVCA ALL-REGION |

Gastright, Buroker and Casey named AVCA All-Great Lakes Region |

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Three Northern Kentucky University volleyball players have been named All-Great Lakes Region by the American Volleyball Coaches of America. They are: Bethany Gastright, a 5-foot-11 junior outside hitter. Gastright led NKU with 600 kills this season, and she also had a .320 hitting percentage. Gastright, a graduate of Holy Cross High School, led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in kills per game (5.21 kpg). Jessica Buroker, a 5-11 senior middle hitter. Buroker, a native of Bluffton, Ohio, and a graduate of Bluffton High School, led the GLVC in hitting percentage (.402) and she also had 438 kills. Buroker, a first team AVCA Division II All-American last season, led NKU with 371 digs. Bobbi Casey, a 5-9 senior setter. Casey, a graduate of St. Henry High School, led NKU with 1,590 assists, and she ranked No. 2 on the team with 48 service aces. All three players will be put on the AVCA Division II All-America ballot. The AVCA Division II All-America Team will be announced next week at the NCAA Division II Final Four. |
