NKU DEFEATS LEWIS IN GLVC SEMIFINALS

Norse advance to GLVC championship match

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Bethany Gastright had 15 kills and a .464 hitting percentage Friday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated Lewis University, 15-13, 15-10, 15-5, in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament at PAC Arena. Gastright also had 12 digs as second-seeded NKU improved to 25-6 and advanced to the championship match of the GLVC Tournament for the seventh consecutive season. The Norse have won three consecutive GLVC titles, and NKU has captured four of the last five GLVC championships. Lewis - which defeated NKU in both regular-season meetings - dropped to 21-9. NKU will play No. 1 seed University of Southern Indiana - which defeated Quincy University in the other semifinal on Friday - at 3 p.m. Saturday for the GLVC championship.
