NKU MOVES UP TO NO. 3 IN NATIONAL POLL

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team has moved up to No. 3 nationally in this week’s NCAA Division II poll.

NKU, now 25-1 overall with 18 consecutive victories, jumped past West Texas A&M in this week’s rankings. West Texas A&M (30-1) was No. 3 last week, but the previously unbeaten Lady Buffaloes lost at home to Western State College in a major upset. NKU, which was No. 4 a week ago, took advantage of that and won all three of its matches last weekend to jump into the No. 3 position.

It marks the second time this season that NKU has been ranked No. 3 in the nation. BYU-Hawaii (21-1) is ranked No. 1 in the nation, followed by No. 2 Hawaii-Pacific (21-2). NKU, West Texas A&M and North Dakota State (22-3) round out the top five teams.
