NKU WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM DEFEATS LEWIS

 

WILDER, Ky. - Sophomore midfielder Tricia Ruark scored two goals and added an assist on Sunday as the Northern Kentucky University women’s soccer team posted a 4-0 victory against Lewis University.

Ruark, who also scored a pair of goals during a 5-0 win against Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, helped NKU remain unbeaten (12-0) and atop the GLVC standings with a 6-0 mark. Sophomore goalie Lauren Piening recorded her eighth shutout of the season for NKU, ranked No. 5 nationally in NCAA Division II.

NKU will travel to both Southern Indiana and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville for matches this Friday and Saturday. The Norse will play USI on Friday at 7 p.m., and SIUE on Saturday at 7 p.m.

 

NORSE MEN DROP 1-0 DECISION TO LEWIS

 

WILDER, Ky. - Nick Carr scored a goal off an assist from Wolf Javier early in the first half Sunday as Lewis University defeated NKU, 1-0.

Carr’s goal came 20 minutes into the match, and the Lewis defense made the score hold up. Lewis goalie Andrew Barks had three saves and recorded the shutout as the Flyers improved to 7-2-2 overall, 4-0-2 in the GLVC.

NKU dropped to 5-4-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the GLVC. The Norse will travel to both Southern Indiana and Southern Illinois at Edwardsville for matches this Friday and Saturday. The Norse will play USI on Friday at 9 p.m., and SIUE on Saturday at 9 p.m.
