HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Kristin Koors and Crystal Wilson each collected run-scoring singles in the third inning Tuesday as the Northern Kentucky University softball team defeated Ashland University, 3-1, in the second game of a doubleheader at the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field.
Freshman pitcher Krystal Lewallen allowed just four hits and picked up the victory for NKU, which improved to 7-6 overall. The Norse rebounded from a 3-0 setback in the opener to earn the split.
NKU will play host to Bellarmine University at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field.
