Talented catcher joins Norse

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Louisville Male High School graduate Sarah King has signed a national letter of intent to attend Northern Kentucky University and play softball.

King, a 2004 graduate of Male, batted .283 as a senior with nine doubles, three triples and 29 runs batted in. She earned All-Seventh Region honors and was named the recipient of the Tracy Stivers Softball Scholarship Award at Male.

A four-year starter at catcher for Male, King batted .409 as a junior and finished with 11 doubles and eight triples.

King will join an NKU softball program that posted a 54-7 record and advanced to the NCAA Division II World Series in the spring. The Norse also captured the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region championship for the first time in history and finished with a No. 8 national ranking.
