NKU WINS TWICE AT GLVC TOURNAMENT

Norse to meet Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore first baseman Krista Eldridge’s two-run double in the fifth inning Friday lifted the Northern Kentucky University softball team past Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, 2-1, in an elimination game in the losers’ bracket of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.

NKU, which dropped a 3-1 decision to Lewis University in the first round on Friday, came back to defeat Southern Indiana, 3-1 in eight innings, and SIUE to remain alive. The Norse, now 25-23, will face the University of Missouri-St. Louis in an elimination game at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
