LEWIS SWEEPS TWO FROM NKU

NKU to be No. 5 seed at GLVC Tournament

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Melissa Swiatek collected four hits and three runs batted in Sunday as the Lewis University softball team swept a doubleheader from Northern Kentucky University, 9-2 and 5-3. Lewis scored eight runs in the sixth inning to defeat NKU in the opener, and the Flyers rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the nightcap with two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Lewis improved to 45-10 overall, 19-3 in the GLVC. NKU, which split a doubleheader at Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, dropped to 27-23 overall, 13-9 in the GLVC. The Norse, seeded No. 5 in the GLVC Tournament, will meet No. 4 seed Wisconsin-Parkside this Friday in the first round at Kenosha, Wis.
