LEWALLEN NAMED GLVC PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Norse sophomore pitcher voted GLVC’s top player

INDIANAPOLIS - Northern Kentucky University’s Krystal Lewallen has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year by the league’s softball coaches.

In addition, Lewallen has picked up a GLVC-leading 16 shutouts this season and has limited opposing hitters to a .130 batting average in 2004. She is a graduate of South Oldham High School.

Two other NKU players - junior center fielder Stephanie Leimbach and sophomore second baseman Ricki Rothbauer - joined Lewallen as first team All-GLVC selections.
