HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Nicole Salisbury has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in volleyball.
Salisbury, a junior outside hitter, recorded 41 kills, 22 digs and a .311 hitting percentage over the weekend as the Norse swept an important GLVC road trip. Salisbury had 14 kills, 12 digs and a .303 hitting percentage during a 3-0 win at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday. She came back with a career-high 27 kills, 10 digs and a .316 hitting percentage Saturday as NKU rallied to defeat Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, 3-2.
It was the second straight double-double for Salisbury, who helped NKU hand SIUE its first conference loss of the season. For the week, Salisbury averaged 20.5 kills, 11 digs and a .311 hitting percentage.
NKU is 6-6 overall, 4-1 in the GLVC. The Norse are seeking their sixth consecutive GLVC championship.
