NKU IMPROVES TO 22-1 WITH WIN AT UMSL
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Junior middle hitter Jessica Buroker had 24 kills and a .585 hitting percentage Saturday afternoon as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 15-2, 13-15, 15-9, 15-1.
Buroker, who leads the Great Lakes Valley Conference in hitting percentage (.430), recorded the 24 kills on 41 attempts with no errors. She also had 10 digs and a service ace.
The Norse improved to 22-1 overall, 11-0 in the GLVC. The win also clinched the No. 1 seed in the GLVC Green Division for NKU, which will play host to the GLVC Tournament Nov. 11-13 in Regents Hall.
Sophomore outside hitter Bethany Gastright added 19 kills and a .370 hitting percentage as the Norse won their 15th consecutive match. NKUs only loss this season was on Sept. 10 when Grand Valley State defeated the Norse in four games.
The Norse will return home for matches against Lewis next Friday night (Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.), and Wisconsin-Parkside (Oct. 30 at noon) and Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.) next Saturday afternoon.
