QUINCY RALLIES TO DEFEAT NKU, 4-3

Hawks score twice in last 14 minutes to get win

QUINCY, Ill. - Juan Tortosa’s goal at the 87:39 mark Sunday afternoon broke a 3-3 tie and gave Quincy University a 4-3 victory over Northern Kentucky University in men’s soccer.

NKU, which dropped to 0-7 overall, 0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, built a 3-2 lead with 23 minutes remaining in regulation when Kevin Crone scored on a penalty kick. It was Crone’s second goal - both on penalty kicks - of the match.

Tortosa, however, tied the match at 3-3 at the 76:30 mark off an assist from James Chambers. Tortosa scored his second goal of the match with less than three minutes remaining to give Quincy (5-2, 2-0 GLVC) the victory.
