WHEELING JESUIT DEFEATS NKU, 3-2

10th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit holds off late NKU rally

WILDER, Ky. - Joel Bailey scored a pair of goals Friday night as the Wheeling Jesuit University men’s soccer team defeated Northern Kentucky University, 3-2, at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

Wheeling Jesuit entered Friday’s match ranked No. 10 nationally in the Division II poll and held a 3-0 lead late in the second half. NKU used goals by Jeff Anderson and Eric Borg to cut the deficit to 3-2 with less than four minutes remaining, but Wheeling Jesuit held on to improve to 5-0.

NKU dropped to 0-5 with the loss, and the Norse will next play at Missouri-St. Louis on Sept. 15.
