NKU DEFEATS INDY, 4-3, IN 2 OTs

Norse now in sole possession of first place in the GLVC

WILDER, Ky. - Jeff Anderson’s goal with two minutes remaining in the second overtime Sunday gave the Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer team a 4-3 victory over the University of Indianapolis at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

NKU, now 5-4 overall, improved to 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse are now in sole possession of first place in the GLVC standings. Indianapolis dropped to 4-5-1 overall, 3-1 in the GLVC.

NKU held a 2-0 lead with 29 minutes remaining in regulation, but Danilo Moreira and Paul Makovec both scored goals for Indianapolis to tie the match at 2-2. Eric Kleiman gave NKU a 3-2 lead at the 80:55 mark with an unassisted goal, but Moreira sent the match into overtime with a goal at the 84:56 mark.

Anderson’s winning goal, which came at the 117:57 mark, was assisted by Kleiman. Anderson drilled the winning shot past Indianapolis goalie Gabe Hall to keep NKU unbeaten in the GLVC.
